OUR ROOMS

JOEY & KOALA ROOM (0-2yrs)

From the moment your children arrive in our Joey and Koala rooms, they are provided with a warm, nurturing and caring environment, one where they can grow, learn and explore with professional caring educators that share a real passion.

Throughout your babies day with us, we aim to make their transition into Early Learning on Rossi as seamless as possible, as we build a safe and secure relationship with them, you and your family.

Through forming these relationships with you and your baby we are able to gather important information about their home routines such as their sleeping ands eating and put these routines into place to provide consistency in care for your little one. We strive to be an extension of your family, one that provides respect, care and love.

We offer you an environment of predictability, consistency and with open and constant communication throughout the day. We us an app called "Kinderm8", where we upload information about your babies meals, nappies, bottles ands sleeps. We believe in open, transparent and honest communication with families.

We aim to provide a peaceful, soothing environment were your children can reach their milestones with care, love, learning and laughter each and everyday.

KOOKABURRAS (3-4YRS)

The Kookaburras room is where you will see the most growth in your child, as far as cognitive learning is concerned. The children will be transferred from learning through play to some more structured deliberate learning, however we still value the importance of learning through play.

Highly trained educators including an educator studying to become an Early Childhood Teacher, provide a fun and stimulating learning environment which is aimed at enhancing all areas of development. Children are offered play experiences based on individual interests and are given opportunities to develop their independence and creativity through open ended resources.

Educators encourage and assist children to further develop their self-help skills such as toileting and dressing and looking after theirs and others belongings. This encourages children to make decisions about their day and allows for choice.

We promote further development of children's gross motor skills through experiences like art, craft, obstacle courses, bike riding and dancing. We help children to develop a sense of wellbeing through toga, exercise and relaxation experiences and offer quiet play spaces for children who no longer sleep during the day.

Children learn about a range of topics through pay and are assisted to develop more complex cognitive skills such as problem solving, questioning and investigating. Dramatic play, construction and art design activities allow children to develop their self expressions and creativity. Science, literacy and numeracy are key features of the education program and children are encouraged to explore and discover these through fun engaging activities.

Children at this age are becoming more socially aware and our educators use teachable moments to encourage children's social skills such as sharing, cooperation and conflict resolution. Educators encourage children to listen to each others ideas and work together during play situations. We also encourage the children to be socially responsible and care for the environment through sustainable practices such as recycling.

Children in the Kookaburra room have access to the main outdoor space, which includes garden beds, play equipment, a large sandpit, sporting equipment, bikes and a bike path.

PLATYPUS (4-5YRS)

Led by our fully qualified Early Childhood Teacher, who is furthering her studies by studying a Graduate Certificate in Inclusive Education.

This is where the children "begin" to build their life skills to prepare them for their next learning journey. We offer a school readiness program which has been developed in relation to the NSW school syllabus including English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, HSIE and Creative Arts. Educators foster an atmosphere of inquiry, learning and discovery. Children are provided with a range of planned and spontaneous activities throughout the day and educators use intentional teaching strategies to scaffold children's learning and interests.

The experiences offered are carefully chosen to develop children's thinking processes and skills like problem solving, experimentation, hypothesising and investigating.

Music, art, drama, imaginative play and design experiences are offered to support the development of each child's creative skills, which provides a range of mediums for self-expression.

Our Educators help the children to develop a sense of community by encouraging them to develop friendships, treat others with respect and care for their environment.

Children in the Preschool Program Room access the main outdoor space, which includes garden beds, play equipment, a large sandpit, sporting equipment and bikes and bike paths.

The children are also given a Reading Eggs account. They have access to this during their time at the centre as well as having the opportunity to learn at home. Along with the above programs and the daily flexible routine the children learn the skills and abilities to help them succeed when they transition to school.
